I will make a guest appearance with the Glenview Middle School Mariachi Band under the Directorship of Monike Hill. I and selected members of the band will perform the title track song "Hero Street" from my newly release album. This song is also featured in a 9-part PBS Docuseries. During the show my record company Hey Dave Music will be making a donation to the GMSM Band as they try to raise funds for a quality traveling sound system. The show starts at 5p and is an hour long. Come on out and let's support these kids who are learning not only how to play music but give back to their community! This show is FREE to the public and all ages are welcome!

Market Music Concert Series

(CDT, UTC-05) (CDT, UTC-05)

Market Music, 405 East Washington Ave, Iowa City, IA

I've done this series several times over the years. It's part of a Farmers Market (and hey, I grew up on a farm!), it's outdoors, and it's almost always pretty wonderful weather (hey, it's Iowa, so who really knows!) It's nice to see families out, kids chalking up the sidewalks, and everyone enjoying another day in Iowa paradise! You'll get fresh produce, lots of Iowa smile, and 3 hours of music! See ya there!

If you are a writer, author, journalist, screenplay writer, songwriter or aspire to be any of these disciplines this unique and very special 3 day come-together is an excellent opportunity to bump elbows with Pulitzer Prize and other award winning writers. But more than that it's an opportunity to LEARN from those who have been where you want to go! I will be teaching several songwriter courses with my friend Carol Montag. Mr Iowa Conjunto Legend himself, Dave Moore will be teaching a class or two as well as The Weary Ramblers and Jason Walsmith from the Nadas. Pulitzer Award recipient, Art Cullen will be on hand as will Iowa Public Radio's Charity Nebbe. It's a 3 day blitzkrieg that has live concerts and instructional music woven throughout. This event is all inclusive for all ages and happens in one of the coolest areas of the USA: Lake Okoboji in NW Iowa. There are also scholarship opportunities for all ages. Check out the Okoboji Writers/Songwriters Retreat @ https://okobojiwritersretreat.com/all-speakers/ for details. Julie Gammack is the Events Director and she'll be happy to talk with you. And feel free to get in touch with me for more info @ davidgsmithmusic@yahoo.com or 615-483-1781.

Another return engagement to the space that magic built! Little did I know when I was watching some of the very first early BC in-the-round shows back in the 80's (with Schlitz and Knobloch and Jelly Roll and Schuyler) that I would one day have the extraordinary opportunity to perform there as well! The BC is as close as I can get to a meaningful church space. Nobody preaches and the truth is gospel. And the testimonies are as real as the congregation that faithfully attends these gatherings and listens in reverence. And any time the congregation has the opportunity to join in and raise their voice in song....it's a glorious thing to behold. This round will feature some of East Nashville's FINEST: 31 Tigers' Amelia White and Kevin Gordon (Keith Richards, Levon Helm, Irma Thomas, First Americans (Todd Snyder) cuts). We are working on a TBA special guest. And I will host. Authentic doesn't get any more real than this.

Reservations go live exactly one week prior to the show at 8am CDT. The shows usually sell out within the hour. Start early, keep trying, don't give up. And if you cannot get through and you're in the area, think about coming out anyway, around 3p, get in line, and there's a good chance you can still get in. Doors open at 5p. Show starts promptly at 6p.

$15 per person

THIS SHOW HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO MARCH 5, 2027

(CDT, UTC-05) (CDT, UTC-05)

Cedar Ridge Distillery, 1441 Marak Rd NW, Swisher, IA 52338

Let's do a little Indian Summer get-together! Ashton and staff are the friendliest you're gonna find anywhere! The food and drink is stellar and the countryside setting doesn't hurt. We'll be lounging around outside, weather permitting, or indoor, weather NOT permitting. Special guest Danny Ray will be joining me on drums & percussion! I will be playing new music from my 2026 Hero Street release. 1-4p.
